I imagine these teams have analysts, part of whom' snob is to look over commitments from all other schools. Perhaps they do look harder at lists from MIzzou, Iowa, KState and look them over, keeping some that might meet their criteria as backup plans. And how they do their senior seasons.

Nevertheless this "unknown diamonds" strategy is risky IMO. Remember the same class that produced 2 stars Spoon and Danario also had 6-7 other 2 stars, all of whom proved to be busts.
