I thought we played about as good as possibly could have been expected against Ole Miss yesterday, yet still managed to lose at home to an extremely mediocre team. Following our absolutely catastrophic non-conference performance against a watered-down schedule, I held little hope that we would actually show any progress, but there remained home wins available against poor SEC teams. LSU, Auburn and Ole Miss were precisely the types of teams we absolutely had to defeat on our home floor this season to get remotely close to .500 (the benchmark for even the most forgiving fans). We have lost them all. Any of these losses, in a historical context, would have been considered colossal failures. We are 0-6 in the SEC and have yet to play a legitimately good team. There has been no progress whatsoever. Of course, I'm not telling anyone anything they don't already know.
