Police departments and police officers have never been more community oriented and hesitant to use force than they are today.
Do you have any idea how many non-law-enforcement community activities officers are engaged in around your community? From volunteering for literacy programs, running scout programs, helping food kitchens, teaching at their local churches, spending money out of their own pockets for those they find in need, volunteering as mentors and big brothers/big sisters, etc?
And officers are reluctant to use force these days, only doing it when they have to. This narrative that they are uneducated neanderthals that have an appetite for racist physical abuse is absolutely false and irresponsible.
You would have been infinitely more likely to get your ass kicked for disrespecting a police officer 30 years ago than you are today, and it is not even close. This is not debatable.
