concern for the NFL. TV markets are what really matter these days, the emphasis on that has changed dramatically since the last time LA had a team (now two) there.

The NFL wants that TV market, pure and simple. It's simple math comparing the markets of SD + STL vs the LA market, and having a team (now two) there will make a difference when the NFL negotiates its TV deals in the future.
