What is the motivation?

Ok, I know LA is a huge market and growing. But, if no one tunes in to watch, does it matter? Wouldn't sponsors be happier with a smaller market with higher ratings?

Granted the teams may not be bad forever, but the LA market will still be saturated with other things, reducing the interest in the NFL.
