that leads you to believe that with only another year, these guys "have the potential do well next year" ?

If anything, they've somehow gotten worse as the season goes along. Given that the odds are that 1-3 of the guys will transfer (I don't have any info, just assuming that based on the past few years' history), what is it exactly that paints a bright future for this crew?
