I'm buddies with a guy who is really nice but hyper competitive.

Then the other thing that annoys the **** out of me is that he claims to do a lot of charity work but does it through his business and refuses to do anything for a better cause unless he can post about it on Facebook. So he calls it "(NAME) Gives Back!" It's just douchey to do charity work for likes and claps. Do it to help a person or a cause.

His last annoying habit is he sees you wearing a new watch, shoes or sunglasses, he'll not only ask about it, but where you got it and sometimes, how much.

Other than that, great dude.
