performing an abortion would be subject to the state penalties for premeditated murder.
Can you accept that this is equivalent to using force, or the threat of the force of law to prevent a woman from aborting a pregnancy? Of course.
Two follow ups:
If this is enacted in your state and a woman is found guilty of planning and/or attempting an abortion and she and her doctor are sentenced to attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder...
...whom would you deign responsible for raising the child and all of the expenses thereof until child reaches legal adult age in your state?
a) the mother - with the state providing all she needs while in incarceration?
b) the state
c) a random citizen if one does not volunteer?
If a woman and doctor are sentenced to life in prison for abortion, do you feel society has benefited?
That a woman and a physician should spend their lifetimes in prison at societies expense is good for society in exchange for that life unwanted by the mother?
I sure don't. Seems like doubling down on one immoral, tragic act by taking 2 more with it.
