Why in God's name would there be a press release?

Trump had no standing to threaten UTX.

The Federal Acquisition Regulation does not penalize companies that produce outside of the US; and in fact, treats commercially available products produced in a Free Trade Agreement country as if they are part of the United States. (See the Buy American Act portion of FAR... CFR-2010, title 48, vol2, sec 52.225-11)

The executives at UTX likely are well versed in the content of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and know he couldn't 'bully' his way out of a paper bag on this topic without a change in laws from Congress.
