The final play was incorrectly executed by Puryear.
With .3 on the clock, the odds of catching and shooting and making are minimal. The best chance you have to score is to get fouled and hit the FTs, which is exactly what KA drew up.
CVL came to screen the man guarding Puryear on the baseline...
Puryear was supposed to run the baseline and draw the man guarding him into CVL in hopes of drawing a foul and CVL would go to the line.
Instead, Puryear inexplicably hands the ball to CVL and the clock expires. The look on Cullen's face tells the whole story. KP completely botched the play.
While there are often times I question what KA may be thinking regarding play calling or rotation minutes, this play was not one. He drew up a smart play and it was simply botched by KP.
