the play had a single option, we ran it through and it didn't produce anything and that resulted in poor spacing and 4 guys standing there watching Phillips dribble far from the basket with time dwindling and he panicked and shot it.

It wasn't that it resulted in Phillips shooting, its that it generated neither a look, good spacing, or secondary options and when it broke down everyone just stood there.
