Indeed, Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, a hard-line conservative and House Judiciary Committee member, told Fox News Radio that "this was probably not the right thing for Comey to do, the protocol here, to come out this close to an election. But this whole case has been mishandled, and now it is what it is."
And former Rep. Joe Walsh, a supporter of Donald Trump, tweeted that Comey's action amounted to an "unconstitutional abuse of government power against our electoral process. Just not right."
Many other republicans have stated the same sentiments.
Basically Comey inserted himself into the 2016 election by sending an ambiguous letter to congress. Trump took the vague message to indicate high crimes in his campaign. Who would have thunk Trump would lie to his constituents. Go figure.
I don't pretend to know what's going on in the FBI but Comey didn't listen to senior FBI advisors and the attorney general. He was advised not to do what he did by the very people he should be listening too.
Just think of the outrage republicans would have if Comey would have commented somewhere, i think we need to be investigating Trump university allegations a lot more vigorously.
What he did was wrong and inserts a little doubt into FBI leadership.
