So my question is why implement these changes starting

this year? This has obviously been a problem for a two full years. Why just now start implementing a rule punishing open layups on defense? Even the most casual fan can see that this has been incredibly weak and lacked physicality. Why finally address this 2 years into his tenure?

I'm sure it will be claimed that the previous players wouldn't "buy-in" and play physical. I'm calling BS on that. You are paid $1.5 million. It's your job to get players to buy-in and do what you want.
