teams being considerably greater than the sum of their parts, our 1994 and 2012 teams as valid examples. Well coached teams will beat a compiled roster of stars more often than not assuming the talent disparity isn't tremendous.

A program with a Bob Knight or a Bo Ryan will always be better off than a program with a few elite players.
