fact that unlike many of us, his words were not adolescent rants by a drunken frat boy. Not the fantasized dreams of decent men who love their families. Not the "never to be realized" stray thoughts of men (not the raskol) everywhere.

In this case i believe his words revealed his character. Remember his stupid comments about the size of his hands.

With some people (most people?) you can separate the frat house boasts from their actual character. In my opinion, not here.
