First off, if the Registration system is compromised to an extreme degree, that in itself may call for a new election. Or at the least, sow doubt in it's legitimacy.
The provisional ballots, again can (always has) and will call question as to it's legitimacy, and potential fraud.
I am not linking registration to vote counting. What I said is backup of electronic data is a problem. The safer route is the paper ballot. If the data is lost, that's a huge problem.
STOP AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IM SAYING.
My original OP was about the potential severe problems associated with a state (any state) election in doubt.
What I went on to say is the Russians have a keen interest in potentially tampering with it.
What I went on to say, no security system is fool proof.
The Constitutional process doesn't have a very good Plan B.
Trump is already saying the system is rigged.
And in prior posting I've stated this is why Trump needs to be crushed, because he alone will challenge the legitimacy of the election and our Democracy.
You can say all you want the SYSTEM will work just fine, and I do hope you're right. But it's NOW that the POSSIBILITY of an election being put in doubt needs to be addressed and avoided.
