Was the reason. It took him 3 years to establish his culture here at UCM, what he took over was far better than what Mizzou was, but every single coach needs time to establish their desired culture. That is determinant of how toxic the precious culture. It was so bad that our best player JW3 said he liked KA but hated the guys who would make fun of him.

None of his UCM teams were miles ahead of the top MIAA teams on any given year. It's not like they could just role the ball out. I watched almost all of his home games at UCM and here's what you could count on:
-rarely beat themselves
-deep, sound, and always improving post play. Every single year it was incredible to watch how he would develop our bigs throughout the season. Rosburg and Post improvements is what he'd do to everyone.
-Selective aggression. He would trap and play very aggressive at key points to drive the hammer or try to steal momentum.
-sound guard play and at least 1 slasher guard to penetrate and mix up the pace.
-diving for loose balls. He would bench their best players even in tight games if he didn't think they were going all out.

These were the 5 attributes of his teams we expected
