In August after an investigation and Title IX review concluded he verbally abused and sexually harassed players. Several anonymous letters sent in started the investigation. And the AD and Associate AD were suspended for reportedly not handling the initial allegations properly and not reporting them to the proper authorities at the school.
News reports also said several players were upset the coach was fired and said small incidents were blown out of proportion. Hmm. The coach first got a letter of reprimand from the AD after the first anonymous letter that included the admonition: "Coaches MUST let the sports medicine staff treat/massage the student-athletes - the coaching staff should not do that".
Sounds like a real mess there. Wonder why D'Amour would choose to walk into a situation like that for his first head coaching opportunity. I've read he was on the short list before for open jobs at Virginia and Maryland. Has strong family ties to the East Coast and most thought he would end up there. Not in GA walking into a scandal-ridden program.
