Pete D'Amour is leaving to become head coach at Kennesaw St in GA. Not just a great assistant coach but the lead recruiting coordinator. Couldn't have come at a worse time, but he was probably on the short list of assistants at top 25 schools that were in line for head coaching jobs somewhere. He is widely respected nationally. No idea what attracted him about KSU. Or what the timing means.
The KSU article announcing this notes that Mizzou's 2017 softball recruiting class is ranked #3 in the nation.
With Phil Bradley leaving 2 years ago and now D'Amour, just a huge hole to fill on the team. These great players don't drop into Missouri out of the blue, he was the architect for the great recruiting classes over the last 5-6 years. Will be interesting to see who EE can come up with on short notice to even come remotely close to replacing him.
