The big AAU teams are sponsored, and many (if not all) of the associated expenses are covered. Once the top players get to high school, travel team expenses are a non-issue. And it's really not necessary to play travel ball before that point.

So yeah, most play AAU to some degree, but once they get to the point that it's essential, it's no longer that expensive.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
