counts on high school to develop college athletes.

Kids don't play sports on their own anymore, so they don't interact in a game without adults. Therefore, natural leaders who might be developed by playing sports among their peers (a group of 10 year old boys playing without daddy or coach hovering over them) don't come along like they used to anymore
