This is a rich argument. Illinois State was not a horrible team. They went 12-6 in the MO Valley and 18-14 overall. With 1 of those 14 losses being getting hosed at UK (who was ranked #1 at the time) with a 30 shot FT discrepancy. What's embarrassing is that UK needed each and every 1 of those 30+ extra FTs to beat them in REGULATION!
They had 2 players foul out and the remaining starters all had 4 a piece (with another player with 4 on the bench).
UK had 1 Foul out (Briscoe) and no one else had over 3. If Illinois State shoots even remotely in the ball park of attempts, at an 80% clip like they did for the game, UK loses.
You can claim it's "stupid", but to blame refs for a loss, when your team benefited from a completely 1 sided game earlier in the year, that's what's truly "stupid".
And congrats, UK has a winning record over KU. They have that over a lot of teams. At least KU can claim they have the greatest margin of victory ever over UK. Sorry if that stings a bit for you.
