Most of the media blasted Cal for this as a publicity stunt, arrogant, etc. Watch the narrative change to brilliance.
Once Cal was winning with one and dones, there were thousands of articles saying how he was ruining the game,how to fix it etc. Coach K done it, the narrative was how brilliant of him to evolve.
kU fans were the worst. Called our players hired mercenaries with no connection or love of the school. You can have them, etc. Then Self copied the idea to lesser success and those kids are great ambassadors for the program.
UK has the numbers down. 70% of players at UK under Cal have had NBA contracts.
Last 7 years kU + Duke 26 NBA picks. UK-27.
Self will eventually do something similar, then they will claim the idea as original like the tournament to determine a champ on the court.
