It has to be getting pretty close. Do you have an action plan in place to ensure you are ready? If so, are you on pace to be ready?
All I have heard was some half assed talk about a name. You need to be ready to funnel those people over in a manner that is easy on the customers and quick to implement. Let's call it operation light switch.
If you think the johnny come lately that corporate is grooming to replace your old man isn't strategizing about customer retention right now you are a fool.
you need to snag a current customer list and do some data analysis on it at home.
Obviously filter for policy profitability metrics but also drill into the age of any dependents the main policy holders have. Get the ones with a bunch of kids about to graduate college because chances are they will end up using whomever their parents use for insurance. Bam... built in business growth. If you focus solely on the old rich dudes with lots of insurable assets you might get claim spikes when they get senile and wreck their BMWs backing out of their driveway.
