I doubt he was as high on Fuller once he got to Columbia, but who cares. I assumed he liked Haith/Fuller when he committed, otherwise he would not have committed, but thanks for the history of the J3 recruitment which I didn't read.

As far as players transferring, they should be able to transfer without penalty if the coach they committed to leaves. Not sure I would extend that to assistants since an assistant seemingly leaves from every program every year. Your point about kids being tight with a particular assistant is true though.
