Keyon Dooling started 10 games (out of 28) his freshman year, and he was a top 20 player in his class and 10th overall pick in the NBA by his sophomore year.
Phil Pressey started 12 games (out of 30) his freshman year (mostly only because Dixon got suspended), and he is arguably the most talented pg we have had at MU, at least since Larry Drew and is currently an NBA player.
Anthony Peeler started 9 games (out of 36) his freshman year, and he was arguably the most talented guard who ever played at MU and arguably our best NBA player.
There isn't an adequate sample size of freshman starting pg's. Phillips only started and played such a role because his freshman year coincided with the least talented MU team in 30 years until this season.
