which keeps certain people living in the past, as they feel the need to relive the past every day. They don't seem to understand they can't change the past, no matter how long they continue their tantrum about it.
They fail to understand that other coaches who have won national championships at lower levels have done well at the D1 level, but it takes more than a few years. Nor do they see how it is looking forward with the hope that the success they achieved is replicated at this level. They can't understand that it's not about going back 23 years or more. They can't understand that a purge of the prima donas was necessary for the long term health of the program.
Turn the page, live with today's realities. It is extremely unlikely a decision will be made until sometime next year. It could be as early as January, but it is likely it won't be made until March. It is very possible that a decision could be made in between those times but not announced until March. Nothing is written in stone.
The team and the coach have a fresh start this year. Everyone who is an actual fan of the program will root for them to do well, and will want them to win every game. They will root for individual and collective progress and success of the players and the coaches, and a return to respectability. They will hope that there are surprise honors for the members of the team and mention for the coach as coach of the year. They will hope for buzzer beaters against high quality opponents and miracle wins. Anybody who can't hope for these things and want these things is not a Mizzou fanatic. You can have all the head knowledge in the world, or none, but Mizzou needs dedicated fans to support the program THIS year.
Welcome to all Mizzou fans.
