nobody at least to date who is even an avg individual defender on the perimeter. Unless one of the freshman surprises we also have no ability to protect the rim.

I agree that we certainly have demonstrated we can't teach defense, and certainly don't demand the kind of effort and intensity necessary. But not sure that really matters this year because we won't have pieces anyway.
