who might replace him and then fail to amass his record, might not agree 'it's not rocket science'.
In sports some coaches are tough - and from a princess syndrome perspective, they can even be considered a-holes - but the question is: did the players respond by pushing themselves to ever higher heights of achievment? If yes it can be considered coaching and it may have been the right thing for that player.
Also, you're generalizing. Certain players are reacting a certain way. Other players are behind the coach.
So whether we're talking great coaching or the coaching in instances being looked at here, we're talking about interactions far more complex than rocket science, which is nothing more than chemistry, tubes and the right aperture sizes...
