As far as ignorance of the ages, that's a lot less relevant with regards to Epstein himself now, assuming that he's dead of course.

But having them lie about their ages was very probably just an attempt at cover for them. If they were wanting to use them for blackmail purposes, being underage was a HUGE advantage for them.
