that SROs are part of the regular police budget.

I agree that is probably unrealistic to station them at every school. But there is no reason not to have a rotation where they visit and spend some time regularly at each school in a district.

The Principal at my previous school always volunteered our building for KCK PDs annual intruder training. His reasoning, if we ever have an incident here I want every responding officer to be familiar with the layout of our building. The same concept works here, if you have regular visits by SROs it will deter some of this stuff and increase response times and important knowledge of the buildings for responding officers.
