KCK PD had one inside Indian Springs Mall.


Lenexa PD has feeds from private video cameras in several private businesses throughout the city. They have had hits on stolen cars/stolen plates and shoplifting operations resulting in rapid response to make an arrest before the thieves even leave the store.

Overland Park has the same setup with the cameras at Oak Park Mall and when one of their detectives encountered a criminal, dispatch was able to track the entire incident from their office.

The Mission officer who was killed a few years ago? That incident started with Lenexa getting a hit on a stolen car from a QT camera at 95th and I-35. Pursuit was on and the car was chased to I-35 and Lamar where the suspects shot the Mission officer.

Sounds like a lot of private businesses are benefitting from a police presence.
