the court system has a history over the past 100 or so years of deciding they are superior and should be the ultimate and final decision-making authority on the government. That is not a good thing in our 3 equal branches of government system.
So because the courts have exceeded their authority on deciding they should run college athletics, it is incumbent on one of the other two branches to step in and fix it. The best situation would have been for the courts to stay out of it like they should have and it wouldn't be a government thing at all. But that isn't where we are now. Since Congress has failed to do anything about it at all, Trump is stepping in to try to fix it.
