I've been surprised that they hadn't killed him long ago.
He has portrayed himself as the outside who is going in to Drain the Swamp, and has p!ssed off a lot of people with seemingly quite a bit of power and influence. He has gored a lot of oxes... or would that be "sacred cows" of the leftists & policies of them & other deep staters. They have already apparently tried to kill him at least twice, albeit rather weak attempts relative to professional hits, especially by the CIA, FBI or organized crime.
If he was going to cower at the threat of being JFKed, he probably wouldn't have run, or would have let them know that he would do most of their bidding, certainly on the issues they considered most important. If that included the Epstein files, why make them at least something of a centerpiece in his campaign? Ditto regarding his antiwar stance, especially regarding Ukraine.
Could he have been under their thumb all along? I wouldn't rule it out. I also wouldn't rule out the possibility that they didn't fully bring their leverage over him to bear until relatively recently.
In any event, he doesn't seem to be acting rationally with respect to his campaign promises and seemingly real anti-war, America First, and "drain the swamp" frame of mind.
Perhaps time will tell.
