They predicted his budget would increase the defifit, and it did. His supporters said the opposite. You can deflect and blame on other things, but the fact is the CBO was right. Not in the exact amount of the deficit increase. That is no the intent. But they were absolutely correct, because his budget decreased overall tax income without reducing spending, therefore increased deficits. Pretty simple. His supporters assumed he was correct that there would be huge economic growth that would occur to boost tax reveneie enough to cover the cuts. It was a fantasy and didnt happen. Blame it on whatever you need to, the CBO was right.
