We have a 2 trillion dollar deficit right now. They made some cuts to medicare, and food stamp spending, and increased defense spending.

There is no way tax revenue grows enough to have any meaningful impact on the overall budget.

And they always find ways of spending more money over the baseline budgets anyways.
