Government should not be controlling private universities

There is a decent discussion that can be had about how much funding should be going to universities in general for research, scholarhips, etc, but that is a funding argument it should be decided by Congress. Regardless, the US Government should not be controlling private universities, as far as what they teach or how they teach it. If they are violating the constitution as far as free speech or through their admissions practices, the courts are the proper remedy.
