a woman as AD (who had done nothing previous to show she could make quality hires) because apparently our admin. feels like we need to buck the "Southern," "racist," and "misogynist" feel of the SEC and go with a diverse and virtuous hire in one of the most important positions within an FBS/D1 university, all to make Mizzou look like we're not in the good ol' white boys club. But we've hired more black coaches than Grambling has, not a single one has panned out, and in Gates' 3 years, the trajectory isn't improving. Now I'm not saying it's his fault because he's black, but when your AD's first instinct is to look minority, you get what you get. And I'm not saying you shouldn't necessarily hire a woman as AD, but you definitely shouldn't hire one who hasn't really shown the ability to make good decisions at this level.
