specifically, who did we not hire 3 years ago that would have been better? Who are you going to hire today if you fire Gates? Because we tried the big name thing with Painter, and ended up with Haith. Before that, we Grabbed Mike Anderson in a similar hail mary play. Bothe of them fled. 25 years ago it was one of the best jobs available. Now it's seen as a stepping stone with it's own unique set of issues, including a poor history of administration. Just saying we'll throw money at it isn't different than a lot of other schools, we're a middle of the pack option for the best candidates (at best)
