a modeled intent to combat what folks *think* will be the flu for the coming season. In that sense, it's a "flu shot".

The COVID vaccine is not built to the same model or protocol - it's supposedly aimed at a particular strain and should be effective against that strain.

Experience has not supported that efficacy.
