real estate is a seriously lagging indicator and even if the US bonds improve the mortgage instruments' spreads widen while the uncertainty in income and demand markets ripples through its changes.

Plus there are reports that up to 1M FHA loans have been receiving government servicing payments to keep them out of foreclosure - so that should cascade a lot of inventory on the market. I think we may find real estate numbers look like the supposed job numbers the last few years - fit for revision.
