1. that's a small part of the job and many can do and do do it
2. It's pretty obvious there is practically zero correlation between success as a player and a coach. Please tell me all about the successful playing careers of Vince Lombardi, or Andy Reid, or Bill Belichick, etc. There are some successful coaches who were also successful players, but it ends up being small in the population of successful coaches. This suggests there isn't a negative correlation, so it's approximately (or practically) zero.
