This is a silly hypothetical, since I do not believe he would take such a position, but:
1. He has shown a great understanding of how to read defenses, which is the only way he reached the level of success that he did--He is only about 5'10" and has a below average arm. Moreover, this is the hardest thing to teach at the college level.
2. He has "done the job" as opposed to a coach that never played a down of QB (and there are many of these). This was always my issue with college professors that had never worked a day outside of academia that taught a business class, for example. That kind of experience is invaluable.
3. He has received the best coaching at the professional level. I imagine that he has retained much of it.
