There are a variety of ways to look at depth. Some of these teams had additional players that made notable contributions when given the chance. Some of these teams had young guys that became top rotational pieces as they got older but were just limited by available minutes on good teams.
Historically in college basketball, having a primary rotation (10 minutes as a benchmark) of 7 or 8 guys is normal.
9 is a sign of depth and a coach who likes to play more guys.
1996 Kentucky is considered by most to be the deepest team ever and they just missed on having 10 guys average 10 minutes.
1992 Tulane may actually be the deepest team ever even if they weren't nearly as good as 1996 Kentucky. Tulane had 10 guys average at least 12.8 minutes per game. I doubt that has ever been matched.
