Do you even know what depletion is? And why wouldn't they be able to deduct the costs of drilling wells from their taxable income? Are you trying to say those are not legitimate business expenses?
You trying to infer these are "handouts" when they are legitimate business expenses incurred that result in taxable revenues being produced just makes you look foolish.
