Thamel: "Sources tell me Gates"... Mizzou fans: "Huh? Why?
this random nobody?"
(Googles coach, sees photo)
"Oh, now it makes sense."

DRF hired this clown & gave him a $25M buyout...
one DEI hire led to another, and now we're about to go 0-18... a feat that even Kim Anderson couldn't accomplish.

i.e., Auburn expands its candidate pool to include top-level
coaches with "baggage", whereas Mizzou limits its pool to candidate who check DEI boxes.

So... if DRF had actually *admitted* to the obvious – that Gates was a "DEI hire", she would have incriminated herself and the university, and been subject to civil rights lawsuits.
As it turns out, hiring and promoting people based on their skin color is bad for business...

or, if we hired based on merit rather than skin color...
(Gates) and nepotism (Kim).

our last 3 hires haven't been based on merit...
Cuonzo because of the Porters.
And Gates because of skin color (DRF heads the National Coalition of Minority Coaches and has made it clear she gives preference to minorities; her head-scratching hire of Kerrick Jackson for baseball is yet another example).
