1) Probably a "want" without understanding how difficult it is to actually do;
2) It seriously endangers the negotiated cease-fire unless you can get Hamas on board because it strengthens the Jewish hand and there were already concerns about the sustainability of the cease fire. I think it's the Finance Minister who is set to resign if Israeli troops have to pull back, which is part of the delayed implementation in the deal. Kiss the rest of the hostages goodbye.
