they suspended the funding for it.
USAID has a history of funding contraceptives in developing countries,
From your article:
An official at the State Department, which administers the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), said the Trump administration had stopped a total of $100 million in aid for the humanitarian organization International Medical Corps’ (IMC) programs in Gaza, which included funds for contraception, and noted that condoms have traditionally been used for family planning in developing countries by USAID.
...
A former deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Middle East, Dana Stroul, said in a Jan. 29 X post, opens new tab that USAID did not spend money on Gaza in fiscal year 2023.
An April 2024 report, opens new tab shows that the U.S. delivered a value of $60.8 million in contraceptives and condoms to four regions, including the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
Verdict:
They haven't publicly released documents stating whether USAID money was earmarked for contraceptives in Gaza, and if so, how much was so earmarked, but USAID does have a history of paying for them with US tax dollars.
