job and confirming Garland (or at least holding hearings and a vote). SCOTUS should be at worst a 5-4 split right now.
Really what I don't want to see is one side of the aisle have a stronghold on the court for over 50 years (or basically 140 of the last 160 years), as we have currently. Courts should turn over more frequently, and justices would be less partisan if that happened. I'm not saying we should elect SCOTUS (that would create more problems than it would solve), but maybe 12 year terms with a third of the justices rotating off every 4 years
