He has no care for the institution itself. No principled thought as to the effectiveness of the court itself. He is happy to do anything that will provide advantage of the moment. It's the same the dems wanted to do with the filibuster in the Senate or the Electoral College. Both are there for very solid and appropriate reasons, but if it gets in the way at the moment, and the dems can game things to their advantage now, they will destroy the institution and do it because it suits their desires now.
